Traditional Boat Tour – Cipancí Wildlife Refuge, Guanacaste

Our Traditional Boat Tour is the heart of the Tendal EcoAdventure experience. In a small group, you'll glide along the Tempisque River through the Cipancí Wildlife Refuge, one of the most important wetland ecosystems in Central America.

Your guide grew up on this river. That means you won't just see animals, you'll understand them. Watch American crocodiles bask on the riverbanks. Listen for the deep roar of howler monkeys marking their territory in the canopy. Spot troops of white-faced capuchins coming down to the water's edge. Keep your eyes on the sky for scarlet macaws, jabiru storks, herons, egrets, ospreys, and dozens of migratory birds.
